Swiss Skydiver gave fans A Jewel To Remember at Preakness 145 when she outpaced the favorite, Authentic, in a photo finish to be only the sixth filly in Preakness history to capture the Woodlawn Vase, and first filly since 2009. Jockey Robby Albarado, trainer Ken McPeek, and owner Peter Callahan made history in the first Preakness Stakes race. Preakness Entries 2018: Horses in the Field Best Suited for Pimlico. Preakness

Unlike the Kentucky Derby this year, there should be a dry track for the 142nd running of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico in Baltimore this weekend. Cloudy and 69 degrees is predicted… a perfect day for racing!

And again unlike the Derby the Preakness field is much smaller featuring only ten horses. This year the field features 5 horses that ran the Kentucky Derby and 5 new horses including Cloud Computing and Conquest Mo Money.

Always Dreaming is the early favorite to keep his dream alive for a shot at the Triple Crown. The opening odds have him at 4/5 after winning the Kentucky Derby by 2 3/4 lengths. Jockey John Velazquez will start Always Dreaming from the #4 post position and their main rival Classic Empire will be running right next to him from the #5 spot.

Always Dreaming has won four races in a row… can he make it five? Neither trainer Todd Pletcher nor jockey John Velazquez have won the Preakness before. Both have victories in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. Is this the year they finally win in Baltimore?

Post time is 6:45 pm so we should know shortly after that who took the middle jewel of the Triple Crown and if we have a contender to win it all at Belmont.
