Give it up for Gaurav Saini, the winner of the biggest freeroll tournament ever hosted in Indian Poker history – Dan Bilzerian Freeroll. While interviewing Gaurav we could sense his zeal, his passion, his love for poker and the efforts he took to win the title. Gaurav Saini is based out of Dwarka, Delhi. He quit his job to focus all his attention on the Poker tournament and today we can say his hard work paid off!

Gaurav will take home a Harley Street 750, along with a fully paid trip to LA to party with Dan Bilzerian and from 1 Million INR cash for winning the freeroll!

Let’s step into Gaurav’s shoes and be a part of his poker journey so far

1. How do you feel winning India’s biggest online poker freeroll?

Honestly, this is the 1st time I have won a Poker tournament of such stature. Just too damn excited to ride on my new Harley and meet Dan Bilzerian in LA. It’s a dream come true for me.

2. Did you have a strategy before going into the Dan Bilzerian freeroll tournament?

Well to be honest, I wanted to give my best to this tournament so well, I actually quit my job on 8th of august to give my full attention to the Dan Bilzerian Freeroll. Whatever I have learnt is through my personal playing experience and online platforms like YouTube and Google. After quitting the job, I got a lot of time to practice and learn new tips and tricks that could help me be better than the rest. So, I kept on practicing around 8 to 9 hours daily till the D-Day and the results speak for themselves.

3. Are you excited to tour LA and what are you most looking forward to doing in the city?

Currently the only thing that’s keeping me occupied is the fact that I’ll get to meet Dan Bilzerian! I have always looked up to him and plan to click a lot of pics with Instagram King. Also, I am very excited to visit Hollywood city and tell all my friends and family about the experience.

4. Also excited to go for a spin around town on your new Harley?

The moment I won the tournament, I called up my best friend and told him that I had won a brand-new Harley Street 750. We going to roam the whole city once I get my hands on the Harley and also plan to go for a long ride once the lockdown situation comes under control.

5. How long have you been playing poker? How did that journey start for you?

I have been playing since 4 to 5 years now. If I remember correctly, a poker platform organized a promotion in some college festival. That’s when I first got introduced to poker. I enrolled myself for the freeroll. Surprisingly, I won that tournament and that’s when I realized my liking towards poker and have been playing frequently ever since.

6. Do you plan to play poker professionally and make a career out of it?

Well, over the period of 4 years that I have been playing poker, it has become my passion and I truly enjoy playing the game regardless of winning or losing. Playing poker brings a smile to my face and it makes me happy whenever I sit on a table. I can literally play this game 24/7. So, I guess it’s fair to say I have understood what I want to do with my life and would love to pursue poker as my career.

7. Any tips for those who have just started playing?

If you are thinking that poker is easy fast money, you will never go ahead in your poker career. Poker is a game of skill and not a game of luck! You have to keep practicing and keep learning to be the best. Play the game for the happiness that it gives you and not for the money. Money is secondary and will come with time.
